What tools will you need?

Seam Ripper - it is essential that it be sharp. Electronic rippers can be handy. The electronic ripper in the video is "The Quick Ripper", not an affiliate.

Scissors - optional to use pinking shears but they do cut down on shredding along the seams

Clearance plate - This tool is very helpful if you have ever had your machine stall as it is climbing a thick seam. See the video on how to use it in the bonus section. One may have come with your machine, if not they are commercially available.

Sewing Machine Denim/Jean Needles - the seams are quite thick so if you plan to sew directly through them then the needle needs to be sturdy. I use Schmetz Denim/Jean needles (not an affiliate) on my regular machine.

Optional Zipper Foot - If you want to sew next to the felled seams rather than on them a zipper foot would be helpful.
